Porter Wright partner Joseph W. Ryan, Jr., was recently chosen President-Elect of the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC). The IADC is an invitation-only professional association for corporate and insurance defense lawyers around the world. IADC members are devoted to the highest standards of professionalism and service and upholding the rule of law and integrity of the court system.

Mr. Ryan is an experienced civil litigator who focuses on complex professional liability, wrongful death, intellectual property, and commercial law cases. Trying cases in both state and federal courts, Mr. Ryan handles an array of utility-based litigation and also represents clients throughout the country on trademark, service mark, and trade dress claims. In 2002, The National Law Journal singled out a case that Mr. Ryan tried as the most impressive civil defense verdict in the country. In addition, the District Court for the Southern District of Ohio has recognized Mr. Ryan's long service as a selected court mediator. |
