Mr. Daugherty’s practice consists of executive compensation and employee benefit plan issues for public and private companies and not-for-profit entities. He has assisted companies in designing stock and non-stock based incentive programs as well as employment agreements, severance agreements, change-in-control and parachute agreements, and other nonqualified deferred compensation plans. He also advises public companies on their executive compensation disclosure obligations under the securities laws.

Mr. Daugherty’s employee benefits experience includes assisting clients with corrections of their benefits plans and helping clients receive favorable determination letters from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Mr. Daugherty also has assisted plan sponsors and fiduciaries of employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) and other retirement plans in establishing strategies to protect themselves from liability for investment and other benefit plan decisions.
